The St. Laurence Mission at Tondoro was founded in 1927 by the Oblates of Mary Immaculate (OMI) and it is still staffed by them. The Benedictine Sisters of Tutzing are five and staff the girl's Hostel and the Clinic. The Mission serves 35 communities spread along the Okavango River. They use two Deacons to assist them in serving this vast number of people. The Deacons are: Dc. Moses Kandjimi Murangi, P.O. Box 6059 Rundu, Tel:066.257031 (W) and Dc. Erwin Masambo Musunga, P.O. Box 2076 Rundu, Tel: 066.257605 (H). Outstation Communities: Canchana, Desi, Ekuli, Gcarhuwa, Kahenge, Kukuwa, Kamupupu, Kaparara, Katara, Katope Island, K.M. Sekondere, Makambu, Matava, Mbambamusi, Mbome, Mburu-uru, Mpengu, Mukekete, Musese, Nambi, Namutuntu, Nepara, Ngandu, Nkurenkuru, Nzinze, Simanya, Sitopogo, Tondoro, Tjara, Tuguva, Yinsu. |
