Corpus Christi, Roman Catholic Parish Wanaheda, Katutura in Windhoek, was built in 1991
by Rev Fr Wolf with the help of the sister Parish, Corpus Christi Austria in central Europe.
The late Archbishop Bonifatius Hashiku installed Fr Wolf as a Parish Priest also inaugurated
the Parish the 15th of November 1992.There were two factors that influenced the establishment
of this Parish in Wanaheda. First of all it was meant for the new generation and that English
should be the central language in the celebration of the holy mass. The second factor was its
location in Wanaheda, the only location in the Capital city that was built to help unite the
segregated Namibians based on race, colour and ethnicity. Wanaheda stands for 'WA'-Wambos,
NA-Namas, HE-Hereros and DA-Damaras meaning that all these ethnic groups can live together in one
location unlike others in other locations where you may find only one specific ethnic group.

Since its establishment, different Priests, starting from Fr Wolf, the pioneer and
the founder of the Parish, have tended the flock of this Parish. When Fr Wolf was
posted to another Parish, Fr Maurus Kakuru Kantana became the parish Priest. Due to a lot
of responsibilities at the Pre-novitiate - St Boniface in Pioneerspark, the late Fr Isaac Mutuavira
became an assistant Priest at this Parish thereby releasing Fr Maurus. Fr Isaac served
the two Parishes, Holy Redeemer, where he lived, and Corpus Christi as a second Parish.
In April 2000, Fr Charles Ikwuegbu was placed in Corpus Christi as living-in Parish Priest.
All of them did the same work; one planted the other one watered. The Wanaheda Catholic
family is comprised of about 600 registered members. A baby Outstation - St Boniface is being nursed.
The converts to the Catholic faith increases each year, people with no religion, inactive Catholics
and members of other Christian denominations are coming back to the faith in this Parish.
